Side to side rotation

Diagrams show front to back on same side or a criss cross pattern. Is there a reason van tires shouldn't cross side to side on the same axle like steers etc do on big trucks?

Ive always crossed the fronts to the rear, and brought the rears straight forward , that way the tires hit all 4 corners. Last set of tires I got 170,000 miles on them. and I run 70psi in all 4. Rotated and balanced every 10,000 miles

I was in TIRE business for 12 years , back a few years and i would ONLY do same side rotation , front to back, back to front, SWITCHING sides on radial tires will cause the tire to rotate differently then what it was and about 75 to 80 % of the time will cause RADIAL BELT breakage. It may work for some people BUT i would NEVER do it .
