Oh, for some reason I was thinking the Speaker of the House was next in line to becoming the pres after the vp. Then why do they say she is 2 heartbeats away from becoming president?

If they both drop dead at the same time then it goes to speaker and if she drops with them it goes on from there. If only 1 drops they shuffle and then replace. If Cheney dropped she wouldn't move up, there'd be an appointment to confirm like court etc. that Bush would make.

Cheri... saying that history is irrelevant is like saying years of alcohol abuse or smoking is irrelevant to someone's health. What Greg is saying about the history of the presidents and what is percieved in the media is true. Reagan was hated more than W is by the media. Therefore, every little thing is made a big deal. Nixon, same thing. Yet, you never hear how inept Carter was. Clinton had his faults, but he meant well. Well sh*t! A bankrobber could mean well too! Doesn't make it right. Nor does it make him a good man.

What I'm getting at is... if you're interested in facts, you'd best tune out Communist News Network. If you've been watching lately, they're even blaming Bush for the California fires. IMO, it's too bad some of the Hollywood elites didn't go up with the forests... along with a majority of the media.
