Sesame Street Moves Out Of The Ghetto

After 45 years in the ghetto (PBS) Sesame Street is moving to new digs in Cableville. But not just any neighborhood in Cableville. Their new home is in the Premium Development of Cableville (HBO). Hopefully the government will block this move or add HBO to the cable package low income people receive.

Will David and Gina turn Mr. Hooper's store into an upscale wine and cheese shop? Will Maria and Luis turn to repairing Porsches and BMWs instead of small appliances? Will the new hood tolerate a black radical like Gordon? I guess I will have to start watching Sesame Street again to find out. It will be kinda weird watching this show without my kids.

Lucky for you there's a granddaughter to watch with - but will Oscar be allowed to stay in the gentrified 'hood?
PS I used to watch the Muppets without kids - half the humor went over their heads anyhow, lol.

Sesame Street will still be on PBS, it's just that it won't air on PBS until 9 months after it airs on HBO. PBS has only been funding about 10% of Sesame Street, and the rest of the funding having to come from merchandising, mainly DVDs. Online streaming has cut into the DVD sales and HBO's cash will more than fund the show. HBO in turn gets some kid's programming to stream to compete with the kid's programming on Netflix and Amazon.
