Guido, check with a salvage yard. You can likely get a very low mileage swap out cheaper than you can rebuild that one. We always had better luck with low mileage rearends from the salvage yards than with rebuilds. Rebuilds are very, very tough get the ring gear and pinion set properly. After unloading this morning, I have been busy catching up on a few needed things, and now, trying to locate someone who does rear end work.I may of found someone back home who can do this, but not 100% yet.Tried Wolverine Ford here, and all they want to do is replace the whole rear end, housing and all, for like 3 grand....I don't think so! I think, at this point, all it needs is axle bearings and some ring and pinion work. This most definately is premature in my book, at 242,000 miles....I am just surprised at how few shops do actual rear-end work anymore.Need to go home anyway, Dad's back in the hospital...
