no intelligent reason given except we talked about it before and thought it wasnt feasible also checked with tristate and was also told no i would have moved up to either a 32 or 40 but they both only want 53 unless you have driven a 53 like i have for years downsizing to a 40 is just alot easier to manuever around people really dont know what that extra 13 ft does.i loe driving semis its the problems trying to find parking i hate i can get that pup in any place i put my straight and that added convience is what i like and the fact that my company has alot more options but they wont go for it if i can find one that will give me the option of 28,32 or 40 i would switch in a heartbeat my m2 just isnt made for this kinda work and i taled to freightliner and cat and they both said this truck was made for short haul or in town driving man can i find a company that will let me pull a shorter trailer

Yes you could have. We used 28 - 30 footers for years. And, they only make too much sense for many places. I'd imagine your main obstical would be the fact that most don't have the skills, or choose not to put forth the effort to dispatch those types of in-betwween equipment. Regardless, i'm sure there are some places out there that would be able to recognize the value of such a machine and would use you. Ya just have to find em. The big boys, ain't necessarily better.

Generally, the bigger companies will have more regulations to follow. It's kind of like the family that has eight kids vs the family with a single child. There are more rules to keep chaos at bay. Expedite companies sell based on standard vehicle sizes. Fortunately I believe there are indeed some who would not see this as a kink in the wheel, but as a valuable tool.

Col and Jeff are right. Standard = cookie cutter/ minimal effort to most companies. Dispatching at those companies is like putting a square peg in a square hole. If you think outside the box, you're bringing a round peg into their mix. Check with some of the smaller companies. They welcome round pegs, like over-sized Ds, liftgates, etc. Personally, I've thrown around the idea; and would welcome you to join up. But I'm not expanding my one truck operation as of yet. ;)

Give C&M a call and talk to Mark. They might have a niche for you.

because im tired of trying to find parking for it as well as manuevering it around i have driven 1 for 9 years as well as 28,32 40,45, and 48 love the shorter length ones for convience and manueverability i can pull a 28 or 32 fter into a mcdonalds parking lot and not get told to move
