I'm considering driving for Schneider National. Is it a good company to work for? Any and all insights are appreciated.

Really depends on what you are looking for. Since you are on an expedited freight board asking this question, I think I should point out to you that Schneider has not "expedited freight" to speak of. Go to www.pumpkindriver.com and check out that site. You will learn anything you want about Schneider from actual drivers, like me, that post on there and help out new people. I will refrain from giving my opinion of them, but you can try to form your own based on what you learn on that forum. Good luck, hope that helps.

People have all kinds of different opinions about Schneider - But they are a great place for newbies to get experience behind the wheel without making a huge investment out of their own pocket. Get Experience - Move on. Great opportunity for those who need it.

Ditto what Staystrong has to say. Pumpkindriver is the best way to find out about SNI. The training is there, you will just have to be willing to contract with them for one year after you get your training. OTR is a different job than expediting but driving and being on the road is pretty much the same.

Good luck

When my wife and I were considering a trucking career and researching the industry, Schneider emerged as one of our top pics for a place to start. Their newbie training program is as good as any big company offers. We noticed that Schneider had a good reputation among its drivers - at least as good as most such companies have.

We didn't go with Schneider because we prefered the straight truck driving of expediting. Once we got on the road, we noticed (and still do) that Schneider drivers are among the most professional and courteous of the bunch.
