Ok scenario,

so I get an order to ship from Toledo,Oh to Chicago,Il.

then I am done, It would not make sense to return empty handed. So i wait in Chicago for other destinations.

do you find orders that return you to Toledo often?

in normal times; what do find wait times like, are they in many days or few?

I know these are really dumb and pretty much come with experience. but I am trying to walk through my mind the process.

In general trucking or even driving a tractor trailer in expedite it's a little easier to get loads going point a to point b and then back to point a. In expedite it's not that easy. You run from a to b to c to d to e etc. etc. Sometimes you get lucky and get a load going straight back it just depends.
I guess if you were going to be doing Toledo to Chicago often enough you could figure enough in your bid to deadhead back to Toledo. Generally speaking though I wouldn't plan on running out and straight back.
Some may come behind me and say I'm completely off base here, but I don't think I am.

Ark's got the right idea. Simply put, if getting back to Toledo after every run is important, then expediting probably isn't for you.

not like the regular freight industry, expedite is mostly non directional.your outbound load won't usually get you to a load that will bring you back to your starting place

Researching
In my experience with driving at Swift, Werner and Southern Refrigerated, there were no Point A to Point B to Point A.

It was more like Point A to Point B to C to D to E to F to G drive through A to point H to point I to point J then finally back to Point A.
