I want to install a satellite dish system, something like the Kingdome. I have been looking at the system called Movin' View by Winegard. (It is like the Kingdome, just a little smaller in height.) Can anyone give me a heads up on a system they have installed and the pro and cons. (Gettin' real tired of "aiming" the dish when it's pouring down rain or 15 below.):)

I've had several dish systems and by far the best one is Trac Star out of Orlando Florida. They have a nationwide network and have the fastest lock-on of any dish I've ever seen. They have a low profile unit that is smaller than a roof A/C unit, about 9 inches tall. There web address is www.tracstar.net have fun with your eye to the sky!

I just called www.tracstar.net and the dish is $1550 and you can get service with any dish company for starting around $30 a month.
$2400 for two-way satellite dish with monthly service starting around $150, depending on what type of service you want.
The price of our toys sure is getting expensive.
An alternative route would be to send a letter to Santa

We had a in motion winegard and had several problems with ours not being able to track correctly. They replaced it with a crank up magic finder and it works pretty well. Only works when stationary but it works for us as we never used the in motion but a few times.

Did anyone ever think of getting a free Dish Network home system then getting an inverter ( which most expediters already have ) , getting a truck mount for the dish , and taking it on the road ?

I believe that system won't work because of the phone line interface. Mobile is mobile, in the beginning years ago we had to sign an agreement stating we would not sell the transmission from the dish...go figure?

I have a King Dome on my D unit and love it. 2 options - in motion $1800..or i got the statonary one ( works only when parked) which is what i wanted for 800.00. dont know what installation is but you can get a quote and state diectory on net.

i have it hooked to direct tv and pay 5.00 extra/mo. for local channel feeds from both coasts.

you do not have to keep it hooked up to a cell phone.

simply put in zip where you park and push button and it tracks automatically...push another button to lock in signal (this all happens in a minute or two).

I dont know if it will work in a truck ( I dont see why not) but if you use dish network with an FTA ( Free to air ) receiver, along with a little studying ( http://www.al7bar.tk/ )<<------ A Little push on where you can learn ),you dont need phone lines, and you can get all the channels including pay channels for free.
