I just find it hypocritical to preach about fiscal responsibility, then be like the tax and spend crowd.

Kinda like preaching about global warming and environmental responsibility all while being an expediter.

A big part of being in Congress is to bring home the bacon. That's just the way the system is set up. Had Ryan not hauled truckloads of money back to Wisconsin we wouldn't be discussing him in this thread because nobody outside of Wisconsin would have ever heard of him. He would have been a one term congressman. Ted Kennedy was the master at bringing home the bacon.

I was just expanding on Ragman's example of hypocrisy, but making it more relevant to us as expediters. I find being both an ardent environmentalist and an expediter is not only hypocritical, but completely at odds with each other. How can a person that is involved in one of the most inefficient forms of transportation, except for space travel, rail against other humans for causing global warming, wasting energy and polluting? Kinda like Al Gore jetting around the world preaching the evils of global warming.

No matter what you think about Ted Kennedy, when it came to bringing home the bacon, he was second to none.

Here is how it REALLY is:
