Which is why I intend to carry open when I see fit. Again, no baiting, just strap on my Ruger and carry it open. IF bothered by the "law" I WILL fill a civil rights suit. Maybe even a stage a sit in and sing Kumbia. Link arms and march down the street.
You old malcontent you ... ;)

We are more restrictive in that respect, yes.

I know little about Canadian law. I know there is, or maybe was by now, a long gun registration requirement that ended up costing a LOT of money for little return. I thought I heard that it had be done away with but I really don't know.

I also know that, other the last several years, changes in firearm and hunting laws in Canada has caused a rather large drop in the numbers of Americans that travel up there to hunt. Which has led to a lot of small business going out of business.

I know several Canadians, that hunt in Michigan, that have moved all of their long guns to friends they had in Michigan to avoid that registration. I don't know much beyond that.

Back in the "old days" things were a LOT better. We could hunt or fish on the Canadian side of the River without a problem. Canadians could do the same in Michigan. Not any longer. It is just not the same, we have all lost. It's a shame, it used to be fun where I live. It would seem that fun has been outlawed by both our governments.

Why? If the stuff hits the fan, do you want to be on the watch list ?
You look like you could be more help on the outside.

OH, I am already on a "watch list". I am a veteran and we KNOW that THIS administration considers us a threat. They also already know I own guns. They KNOW I buy a hunting license each year. They have those lists. They KNOW I have a CPL, it is tagged to my CDL. Might as well go for broke.

Actually, gun registration is self incrimination.

Background checks are an assumption of guilt on the part of the government.

Keep in mind that NONE of what is going on with "gun control" has ANYTHING to do with reduction of crime. It is SOLELY about disarming the People.
