Has anybody got a 07' Sprinter that has rooftop ac/heat and if so what kind and how much weight would it add.
I got the one with the sleeper and it's 7000 lb. and the GVW is 8550,they should tell people how much that sleeper added. They told me that a sprinter could can hold 3000lb and the sleeper might be 500 to 600, got home and checked weight, boy did I get the shaft

Are "They" the people that sold you the truck, equipped with a sleeper? If so, that's some pretty substantial misrepresentation. I'd talk with a lawyer. With only a 1550 payload, I wouldn't be adding anything else.

I honestly dont know much about Sprinters, but it sounds like the gvw you stated, (8,550) sounds like a 3/4 ton van.Just out of curiosity, why didnt you go with the 1-ton if this is a 3/4 ton? My Ford e-350 extended is a one-ton and has a gvw of 9,400.

The 1 ton Sprinter has the dual rear wheels. There's not enough room between the wheel wells for a standard skid. There are things that can be done, rework the wells, build up the floor, but most go with the 2500.

Wow. I was under the impression that most Sprinters were 1-tons out here. But I guess they make the difference up in the empty weight being so much lighter than a Ford.

i agree that if you may have had the info misrpresented to you, but if you are going to get into a business of hauling freight, id think you would have all of the needed info long before you bought a truck , i would think it would be part of the "decision making process" on which unit to buy....all it would have taken was a trip to the scale on the test drive if the saleman didn't already have that info....

As far as the weight of the AC unit.... maybe 200lbs, depending on hoe big you co, they do make different sizes...but don't forget the weight of a power scource also...a bank of batteries and inverter or a generator isn't a small amount of weight that you must add also....
