Those guys are suffering from the same issues expediters suffer from.
You can abuse IC's more than employees.Thus my disdain for 1099s.
And since deregulation a guy can wake up, say Hey, I won accouple grand on Thursday night football. Should I go to Vegas, get some coke and a hooker, or should I open a trucking company ?

The foreigners are easy to abuse. Some lack education. Some see few options.

Very sad situation.

I know a guy that remodeled a store and purposely hired illegals to do the work.
He stiffed them on final payment.
On purpose, figuring "What are they going to do about it ? "
I'd be afraid of blunt force trauma....

Hope he got what's coming to him. People just trying to make a days pay and support their families. The ones that take advantage of this are just plain evil.
