Rice Cooker

We have a electric rice cooker in our truck and have found that it is also great as a spaghetti cooker. The eclectic rice cooker heats the water a lot faster then a microwave does. We have found our rice cooker will have just as many uses as the crock pot. Now we need something for our garlic toast?

You guys are spoiled. I still think of the deep fried burritos at the hook as "hot home cookin". But I do enjoy microwave popcorn; this diet does ensure I stay homesick ( And actually sick) while on the road. And hard to beat those Wal-mart deli chicken wings..... got you looking for a wally mart, right..:p :p

You are right we are spoiled and the best part is we know it! The rice cooker is not 12 volt and Bob has said it really does not hit the batteries to bad. We have an inverter and a generator so I only buy electical appliances.

So how big is your kitchen in that truck?

I keep seeing that cartoon in my mind on EO the one that says we can carry a whole skid

outwardbound 2,

I had to laugh about only hauling one skid. Bob does try to remind me once in awhile that we should watch our weight. That is also when I remind him we have an extra axle. We do have a 96" sleeper that is really nice and we enjoy the comfort. We try to stay out a long time so we really do appreciate the extra room.

well being a solo driver with a 70inch sleeper i dream about and envy your 96 inch and applaud you for making it work for two. Being new to this i still find it amazing how a team can do it and find room for stuff. If i was to buy my own truck i think i would spend the big bucks and go for the 120.

My hat is off to you and all the teams out there!

Well, being a solo with a 28" sleeper, I envy your 70"! Just kidding - it's enough room for me, & if I had nore room, I'd just have to take more stuff off the bed when I want to sleep, lol.
Running team is a hard thing to do successfully - it's living and working together, which is a wee bit too much togetherness for some people. It requires being considerate, respectful, and trusting your life to your partner - not an easy thing to do at all.
The carriers who keep advertising for teams somehow remind me of Nancy Reagan, & her "just say no!" proclamation - if only it were that simple, we'd ALL be running team!
I really am envious of TeamCaffee, & all the teams who can stay together. Good job, guys! ;)

My good friend of 7 years is taking off with me tomorrow. He is eager to join the trucking world as a team with me, but i told him he has to ride for a month to see if we can make it work first. If we survive the month, I'll teach him to drive and sign him up.

Very good idea!! I bet it will not take a month to figure out if you like it or not.

I know that as a married couple you have to learn to have disagreements in a different manner then you would if you where at home. Sometimes you just have to go to the sleeper and chill for a little bit. I think for everyone the longer you do this job the more you get into your little nitch of things you take care of. There are a lot of things Bob likes to do that I hate and I have lots I like to do that he hates. We do what we like to do best and then we share the rest and keep the truck running down the interstate. It is a challenge but what a great job we all have and it makes everyday worth it.

Thanks for the advice. I'm sure it won't take a month either. I figured that if i ever did team, this would be it, since we've been the best of friends since 9th grade. (and I have no significant othr to take along) I'll let everybody know how it works out.
