Rhonda Mitchell-Freightliner of Knoxville

On July 16th we had an unfortunate accident in Winchester VA. Looking at the trucks missing door skin I doubted Tod's reasoning for driving to Knoxville for repairs to our 2006 Acterra. Anyway off we go 450 miles with no window and the door duct taped and bungee corded together. Being female I hate to admit his judgment was better mine. lol

Rhonda Mitchell, Body Shop Manager at Freightliner of Knoxville is just amazing. She immediately (with our permission) took the ball in her court and handled all the necessary contacts. She called for a rental car and gave us her personal home and cell number in case we needed anything else. She gave us several restuarant suggestions. Then the really unexpected happened. She became Ms Superslueth when we realized we were given a wrong policy number by the other driver. She contacted the driver and fleet owner of the other truck numerous times until she got the information we needed.

Luckily, she found a replacement door that had been ordered by a supplier error. She even arranged for her graphics man to replace the graphics. Then we hit a snag.....the door window was in Canada. After planning to just go home , we received a phone call from her Wed morn, and she found us a window.

We will have our truck by Friday. To me this is amazing. Four days to make repairs that probably would have taken more than a week if we would have went somewhere else. Rhonda went above and beyond her call of duty.

Chalk up another one for Freightliner of Knoxville!!!!

:) :) :)

I'm sorry you had that bad accident, but doesn't it make the whole situation seem a lil better when you find a place that takes care of their customers? Hope everything continues to work out for you.

I know the Service Manager very well at Tom NehlF/Liner in Jacksonville. One time he said to me ," The salesman will sell you the first truck,I will sell you the second". Very true words.

The FOK folks and the EO folks have always had a great symbiotic relationship. Rene' and I have never used their commercial services but we've found them each to be great folks with whom to share some time at the Louisville MATS, Expedite Expo, and Expediter Workshops.

It should be evident to most that without the sponsorship of Freightliner of Knoxville and all the other Truck Dealers, equipment suppliers and Carriers, neither the EO and the forum and classifieds section, nor The Expediter Experience, nor the Expedite Expo, nor the Expedite-Now Digest, nor the Expediter Workshops would exist.

We are often quick to critisize unpleasant experiences so it is nice to see complimentry comments like that of Coco. So, as a reminder to all of the EO Forum members, let's give an Atta-a-boy, in the Forum, whenever we encounter one of those good folks like Rhonda Mitchel.

It is great to hear positive comments.
For the reasons above and others is why we have bought numerous trucks from them.

Like Dave says, it's nice to hear, so I'd print out the positive feedback, & mail it to the person/place that inspired it, too, adding a thanks for going above & beyond the job requirements. ;)

I need to tell my dad about freightliner in knoxville. he's a lil partial to barloworld in little rock, but he had a bad run in with barloworld in shrevport,la. last year he got a brand new classic fully loaded from little rock. well he ordered it thru them. he runs his own oversize biz. long story short first oil change went down at barloworld shrevport and 20 miles later the motor blows. come to find out the knuckle head in the oil pit didn't put the oil plug i tight enough so it droped out and dad said before he knew it the motor was gone. he was so mad. but the little rock crew came threw. they paid to tow it to little rock, and the warranty paid for a new motor. needless to say the knuckle head isn't changing oil for barloworld any longer.

My Acterra came out of the factory with a misaligned passenger door. The first time it opened it snapped off a small piece of the lower cowl panel. I tried for the longest time to get it taken care of by the Houston FL dealer so it could be done while I was at home but they never got the piece ordered and/or lost it and/or didn't have it painted and/or and/or and/or. I talked to Rhonda also as a matter of fact. I explained the situation and that I'd like to take care of it there but only when I was dispatched nearby. She said no problem, got the panel, got it painted and then squirreled it away till I got there. It seems that every department works hard to sell trucks, either directly like Jon or indirectly like Rhonda. I've said several times before there are only 2 places to buy a truck and this is another example of why that is so.
