Revenue expectations for sprinter Teams

Hello,

I've been lurking for a while, but this is my first post. I used to drive tractor trailer, and I know in the 18 wheeler side of things same household teams area hot commodity. I'm looking to get into expediting in a sprinter (or perhaps Ford Transit) with my partner. I've done some searching around on this forum and found a few useful threads about this, but most of them seem to be at least five years old. I've done some number crunching and determined that at an average rate of 80 cents per mile (plus fuel surcharge, loaded and deadhead) we would want to be able to run 2,600 miles per week (total, not each) to hit our revenue goals. Are there any carriers o/o's can sign on with that have a lot of team loads for sprinters? Is this a realistic goal, or am I way off the mark here?

I appreciate the wealth of information on these boards, and thank you in advance for any input you have.

2600 paid miles a week as a Team ...? Are you husband & wife ...? Meaning same household income ...? Very small living area (inside van ) if you are non-related ..(imo)
I made those numbers (2638 last year over 47 weeks ... as a solo ... very lucky as i know other drivers averaged 1800 to 2600 miles with same company.... and NO they are not hiring and there is a very long list to get on .... they only lease on around 40 vans at a time .... no flooding market ...BUT this is a right place , right time business .... you need cash back-up , the best thing to do is call companies (alot of them ) and discuss your ideas and concerns with them ... and then research those companies to find driver complaints or positive comments .... I waited 18 months to get on where i am at .... Good Luck

Because of the oversaturatiion of cargo vans in expediting, it is very unlikely you can enrage that many miles per week over the course of a good month, much less over the course of a quarter or over a year.

In a straight truck, probably. In a tractor, very likely.

Thanks for the input everybody. I was hoping since true van teams (able to roll 24 hours straight, do coast to coast loads only stopping for fuel) are rare there would be opportunities. I will definitely need to rework this plan some.

I know this will vary greatly, but what is a reasonable mileage goal for van teams? straight truck teams?

Van teams aren't as rare as coast to coast Van loads.

Thanks everybody for giving me the answers I need to hear (and not the ones I want to hear). I'll need to look long and hard at my budget and either do more with less, or scrap the van idea entirely.
