It's not like we haven't seen other examples, and likely will see more, but another example of the extent of how bad this administration is. Oh, and yes, other administrations have been bad as well.

Not like this. Obama has set a new standard for punishing whistleblowers. If you really start looking into it, what you find strains plausibility and believability, except that it's all real and verified.

I wanted to include that disclaimer for the benefit of that part of our group who find it impossible to acknowledge the failures of this administration without redirecting to others.

Whistle-blowings and leaks, if they benefit Obama, he's fine with it. But if they make him look bad, embarrass him, or undermine his agenda, he's petty and ruthless and reprehensible.

Obama is very Nixonian on certain levels. Both men harbored paranoia, famously carried grudges, personally detested those who opposed them and sought their destruction. Nixon had the good sense to resign and Obama doesn't.

Nixon was an amateur compared to Obama. Obama is constantly praising the idea of whistleblowing, but he's never actually praised a whistleblower. Prior to Obama, whistleblowers had spent a total of 24 months in jail for violations of national security. That's 24 months, since the American Revolution. Under Obama's administration, whistleblowers have been sentenced to 589 months in prison, and there are still several cases pending. If they can catch Snowden and Assange, the tally will increase by a lot. Obama and company have named journalists as co-conspirators in leaks. They tried to frame NSA whistleblowers Drake and Binney with false evidence, but the two were smart enough to prove with bulletproof evidence the government was lying. Their lives were ruined, just the same.
