SCA's is Supplimental Coolant Additives.Fleetguard and Napa Cool are the two that I have used.Take the truck to a big truck dealer and have them test it.You can buy the test strips from Fleetguard but you get 50 of them and they are only good for 1 year. You'll use 2 of them and then throw the rest away. Most truck mechanics will test it for free or less than $10.00.

They can't test G05 coolant, thats the new gold colored anti-freeze.Test strip don't read right. But there is talk of coming up with a new strip for this type of coolant.Ford doesn't recommend using SCA's in the G05. It took them 5 years to recommend it for the old 7.3L with the green anti-freeze so I've been adding it anyway. After they started haveing to replace pistons and heads while under warrentee.Ford.com has a FAQ on their site that shows pictures of the damage that was caused.

I changed the waterpump a couple of weeks ago.Found some light alkaline deposits but that could be because I forgot to add SCA's for about 50,000 miles.I usually have to add 8oz every 20,000 miles.Hope this helps.

The comments on the Dodge dealer in Charlotte are common. I had the same problem there, and have spoken to many who have had the same or worse. DC and other area dealers know about the "issues" but no action has been taken. I can not understand the attorny general of NC not spending some time with these thugs. If you break in Charlotte PUSH - PULL - DRAG - TOW - LIMP - CRAW or use some other means of escape but by all means as they say get out of Dodge. You'll have great luck at the dealers in Columbia SC, Warner Robbins GA, and Greensboro NC, honest people who do what they say they will do when they say they will do it.

I e-mailed Fyda Freighliner about this topic and they assured me they service Sprinters 24/7 . Freightliner still services Sprinters . Contact Freightliner shops before going to a Dodge dealer . Unless it was major warranty work I'd go to any diesel shop before entrusting it to a Dodge dealer
