There was a post on another forum by a team complaining about not making money driving for a fleet owner . They were getting the 60/40 split but paying $600 a week truck rental out of the 60% .

LMAO if Waltrip races the straits....I wanna see Danica race the Vans, down the dragstrip though. (I really would pay big $$$ to see that) I could just see a CV pullin a wheelie on its hole shot. You already got the diff classes
Sprinter- loaded/unloaded
CV- loaded/unloaded

This a program that Integrity Motor Freight wanted to start for Panther drivers. They bought a fleet of used trucks and wanted to do a Lease to Own/Rent To Own program because to owner has a small chain of Rent to Own stores. I stopped managing their trucks Jan,15 of this year. The program I set up was a fair program, but I wanted to make sure the trucks was up to par for driver looking to buy them.

Some of the "great advice" has to be tempered with the knowledge that most of the pros here have fought the battle to be as successful as we have been...and it is long trudge uphill...we did not get here without our problems...And staying on top, is a constant struggle....the biz is in constant flux of change...

Could you go into a little more detail on what battle was fought to be successful and what constant struggles there are to remain on top. And what are you remaining on top of? I have been in this business for a while and have found it to be quite easy and very rewarding financially.

I have no doubt there are Greedy, money grubbing, dead beat owners, Fleet & other wise. But certainly not all of them. I try and learn daily if I can. I have P.M DaveKC with questions and he has always answered my questions. I'm sure he thought who wouldn't know that. But he always took the time to answere and explain why.

Thanks for the plug. There are many folks here that give great advice. In my opinion that is one of the greatest things about this site that many have benefited from.

I would have to agree with you Dave, you have helped me many times over the years even before we moved over to Panther.

And I keep looking in my mailbox for a check:D

I don't have your Address. I always seem to find good loads in places where neither one of our trucks are at. Last week a customer called me with a cargo van load from El paso, Tx to Vegas and nobody wanted it. I even ask the Panther agent to call a few of the D-units to see if they wanted it. The pay was $1200.00 for 527 miles. Now I know they would have gave up 15% to Panther, but the load was only one skid 459 lbs. I have had a few good loads that people have passed up on.
