Have you notice the new dollar coin? I was at a post office not long ago.The lady behind the counter gave me my change which included a dollar coin.I looked at it,and gave it back, and asked for a paper dollar bill. The lady smiled, and and thank you.The "In God We Trust" is gone,on the coin. One way or another slow but sure everyone wants to wipe out God from everything. One thing is for sure...judgement day is right around the corner.

We really get a kick out of these coins and also bought two dollar bills to be given out as Tips during December. They do bring a smile to peoples faces.

Everyone I've given them thinks I gave them a quarter... takes the fun out when I have to explain, and tell them to look closer...

I collect them myself. Hopefully one day I'll have one for each president. They are doing 4 a year. So that would take what about 12 years if you consider new presidents coming into office?

Not like the fate of the 2 dollar bill...The Dollar coin will stick around. It's economical and practical. It saves a lot of taxpayer money and I am for that.

Years ago a friend of mine worked at a printed circuit board plant. His job was to gold plate the circuit boards. Occasionally he would gold plate some quarters. These special quarters were used for tips when we would go out for coffee. Every cute waitress got a "goldie".

>OVM,
>In Canada don't they even have 2 dollar coins?

Yep..called the tooney =$2.00 as opposed to the looney=$1.00

They are planning a 5 dollar coin next. Maybe a Fooney? *L*

I spend about half a year sateside, half a year in Canada. I have two separate wallets to keep coinage apart.

The weight difference with Canadian coins is horrific. Almost a half pound heavier on average. Once the 5$ comes it, I shall call it quits and only carry that I really must. The trend to coins is not as good an idea as it appears on the surface.
