Jus finished the long version.
My thought was kinda this. Why do we go into areas we know are hard to get out of out when one knows in advance either your gona DH or discount it?
Personally I have set up my own standards, like for example FL, if its not North of the NC-TN border (KY-VA) I am not going. Not enough miles to justify the risk of DH.
Why should a customer in say Boston with a load going to FL and one to the Chicago Burbs pay the same dollar amount rate? Where do you want to go? So why should we not be compinsated for the DH out of FL?
Intresting while reading this, the phone just rang. Dispatch said (you do not have to say yes, but customer is on the other line) Lexington to Windsor. #1 not enough miles, Monday delivery, and no extra $ means tell the customer thank you but no thanks.
