In relation to the sign on bonus thread..

I just heard an add from Custom Critical on XM that mentions the sign on bonus, an immediate need for drivers, and mentions dedicated routes.

I'd be interested in learning more about this. If dedicated routes are being offered through Custom Critical, would it not be a nice touch if the carrier notified existing contractors of the opportunity first? On the other hand, these may be dedicated routes offered through Truckload Brokerage that would be of little interest to existing contractors.

Either way, it is in the carriers best interests to keep the fleet informed before new opportunities are advertised. Keeping contractors informed is a sign of respect. It reduces rumor mill activity. It reduces the phone call load on recruiters and contractor coordinators that will be called upon to provide information that was not otherwise provided, but easily could have been.

Agreed.

If a potential new recruit was to come up to you at a truck stop and ask about these types of things....and our response is we don't know anything about them...does not leave a very good impression of the company on the potential recruit.

After reading this Post I contacted our recruiter atFDCC and asked the questions.
Yes, $1,000 sign on bonus if I was to buy a truck and sign with FDCC. This did not include CV
As far as the dedicated runs: They have a few however they are very short and and may only last a month or two if that. He said he heard the ad was admitted it was kinda missleading.

We have meet one gentleman at the LG in Atlanta that does a dedicated run for LG to Florida. He lives between the 2 points and he admits that it is not a very long run and the pay is LG pay, but It works for him.

Contact recruiting if u have any questions

Hey, not to throw stones or anything, but, if expediting recruiters are anything close to military recruiters.....................

While on the phone this morning with my CC, I asked about the ad. It is her understanding there are very few and limited dedicated runs and most if not all are associated with short runs which pay very little money; runs which most contractors avoid and refuse. Specifically, they tend to be LG loads.

then don't throw them and refrain from commenting. When you begin by using a disclaimer something negative follows.
