Recorded phone calls

I heard from another driver that the same thing happens with the qualcomm. It has a microphone in it. At least that what the other driver told me.

If I believed what those 'other drivers' say, I'd think that's pretty scary.
Until you think about how much they really don't want to hear from inside a truck.... [It was the tv! Honest!] :D

I will say that, at my previous carrier, the recorded phone conversations were to my benefit, many times. :D

I agree! There have been several times dispatch has claimed I have accepted a load verbally when I have not. They threaten me with the: "I'm getting a supervisor to review the phone conversation." The recordings have always support my version of events. I think dispatch has a tendency to only hear what they want to hear. I rarely verbally accept a load offer, especially when they insist on making me "aware". Send the load offer via the QC so there is no mistake on acceptance. I don't pay $35 a week for a glorified, electronic, satellite communicating wheel chock. Although the curly rubber coated tether is pretty cool!

As for recording while on hold, if someone really wants to listen to me talk back to the inane recorded loop that plays while on hold, more power to them! My personal best time for being put on hold is 72 minutes. I'm sure I had some choice comments I made for my own amusement. If someone was listening, all the better!

Then why are you cutting and pasting things? .

So what is your point Greg? I never said I wrote the post in the 1st place. Most people do copy and paste to share things with others. You do it all the time. Seems to me like the pot calling the kettle black here bud. It's okay for Greg to do it, but if someone else does it you have to point it out. The reason I know a lot about recorded phone calls Greg if it is any of your business, which it's not. I was in collections for many years before starting out with Roberts Express.

Collectors have to know the laws in regards to recording phone calls. That why they inform most people that the phone call may be recorded for training reasons. Sometimes people would listen into a phone calls of people just starting out doing collections. The law clearly states that you have to let the other person know that other people may be listening to the for training reasons. Michigan is not a two-party consent state so I don't know where you got that they are. Next you will be saying that the Federal Fair Debt Collections Practice Act doesn't apply to the state of Michigan too.

Umm Greg...

Because Michigan’s definition of “eavesdrop” is to “overhear, record, amplify or transmit any part of the private discourse of others,” Michigan courts have held that participant recording (even without the consent of the other parties) is not prohibited. Therefore, a party to the conversation can record the conversation himself without obtaining the consent of the other parties. He cannot, however, employ a third party to record the conversation on his behalf without getting the consent of all the parties.

Cut'n'paste, boyyyyyy! :D
