We have be very tired of the church we had been going to for years. Too many sermons about supporting illegal aliens and socialist talk. We have started going to another church, another Catholic Church, the difference was like night and day.

The priest at this church is just 2 years older than me. He is an escapee from Albainia. He went on today about not allowing the State to do anything for you. He talked about how his native land was destroyed, a little at a time, by allowing the government "do for you".

It was refreshing to hear. He knows. He lived with the end result of where we are now headed as a country. The very idea that a State, any State, can supply your needs better than you is something to be avoided. It can only end in slavery.

That's better than some of the "reverends" who preach racism and negativity more than anything else.

It was refreshing to hear someone have the courage to speak about right and wrong, good and evil, and not what is popular or in vogue.

When I used to go to church they mostly talked about Jesus and stuff.

Turtle churches have been involved in politics for centuries. Especially the RC church. It has held political sway basically since its inception. So nothing new for a priest here or there or a bishop or such to make some sort of political statement from the pulpit. Yes they should stick to the religious and spiritual part of our lives but alas that's only wishful thinking.

It was based on religion. Religion teaches self-reliance, using the talents given to ones self etc. He taught the giving up control of your life to any government is contrary to the teachings of Christ. I happen to agree with that idea.
