So what would your Rate your M2? we have a 2005 M2 and it has been in the shop over 10 times since we got it. AC, fuel lines you name it.
I think they need to bring back the FL 70 and 80. I think that they are better truck with better Motors.

Hey David,

We have an 2005 M2 and overall it has been a pretty good truck. We have over 247,000 miles on it now. We have a 300 cat that had to have the injectors replaced 100,000 that was under warranty and fixed that problem. We have had air conditioner problems, had to have the condenser replaced and then the blower motor. Now that seems to be fixed. We also have the Allison Automatic and that has been a great transmission so far. Over all we are really happy with our truck and feel as a starter truck it has been great.

We have a 05 M2 as well. Ours has the Cat engine as well with roughly 300,000.
Repairs so far have been,
1 brake sensor
wiper connector
air valve to fan clutch.
All under warranty

Items not covered, was new J block for A/C, that was 25.00 at AB and 129.00 for Allison transmission reprogram. I had to pay for that as it wasn't a warranty item.

All in all, pretty happy with it and our team really likes it.

>If i'm corrct Dave you have our old truck. We had too many problems to warrant keeping it. A/C, A/C , A/C again, electrical problem, exhaust leak, wiper problem, and sensor problem. Everything was under warranty but that doesn't make up the down time. Evidently we got the bugs worked out for you.

We traded in for a Sterling Acterra. We are very happy with it and I'm glad you're team is happy with the M2. Looks like it worked out good for both of us.

You are correct. It is your old truck. We bought it with slightly over 100,000 on it. I think you did get everything corrected.
As mentioned, I went in and had the tranny reprogrammed to a six speed and reset the operating parameters so it gets pretty good fuel economy without sacrificing any power loss.
Also, your A/C issues were with the J block connection. That is why you had many AC issues. That 25 dollar part took care of it.
AC hasn't been touched since we bought it short of a air filter change. The other items were minor and were fixed when the team was home, so no loss on downtime except to drop it off.
It did work out. We, like you have went to the Sterlings and got the class 8's from Jon Mosier. Seem to be doing great so far.

My 2005 M2 was somewhat probemlmatic the first year.
I had the C7 Cat engine upgraded to 300 HP when it was new.I also had a CAT compression brake put on.
I think the upgrade was a mistake.I had,in the first year:
>
2 sets of injectors

On going problems with the "jake" brake

Went through two tubos(big hassle)FRTLNR dealer mis-installed the first one.Never use them again.Campbell FRTLR.Edison NJ.Idiots!!

Cross over fuel line(tank to tank)froze up in zero plus weather.

After the first year problems, truck has been fine. All work and parts were covered.Allison transmission is great, not one problem.

Hey CoCo,
We also have a Sterling Acterra - it is a 2006. What kind of problems, if any have you had with yours?
Right now we are working with Hercules to get new doors put on the back, ours are starting to rot out by the hinges.:( :( From what we were told, this will be covered at no charge to us.
