New people and others frequently ask about real world numbers. Here is a snapshot of a recent three week period. Loads is the number of loads for the week. The total miles is the loaded miles plus deadhead to pickup. Pay is the total pay for the run. rate1 is pay divided by total miles, and rate2 is pay divided by loaded miles.
the columns, respectively (I'm not going to try to figure out how to format a table):
loads
loaded miles
total miles
pay
rate1
rate2
3 1894 2152 $1495 .69 .78
4 2450 2632 $2015 .76 .82
4 1224 1284 $1170 .91 .95
The bump in cents per mile in the last line came from a bonus for hitting a string of dry runs. HQ tried to help out by adding the bonus, but as things typically work out, I spent the entire bonus on bridge tolls going into NYC.
