Random Drug Tests

It was aimed at nurse aides that tripped/slipped/fell. who then tried to get worker's comp. If they claimed an injury, then we'd send them to the ER which did a whiz quiz to rule out drunk or high staff. If they where drunk or high or hung over - we didn't want them caring for the elderly. The pre-employment quizes did just that. You'd be surprised at the number of positives that came back by good applicants! It was a condition of employement for them/me.
If we suspected a staff member of being drun or high, we'd send them for a quiz. They had an hour do do it, if they refused or didn't show for it, they new NOT to come back to work.

EVERY elected official, reguardless of party, should be subject to EVERY law they pass, period. I just threw the Obama stuff in for TWO reasons: 1, he is the one in office now and 2, HE is the one who has admitted to heavy drug use.

OVM, when did I EVER say I agreed with the Patriot Act?

Drug testing may be a fact of the trucking world today, BUT, that does not make it right.

It assumes guilt, we are susposed to by innocent until proven guilty. We cannot, under the Constitution, be searched etc without probable cause. Why do we let them get away with this stuff?

I had/have nothing to hide, thats why I do them.
Came back clean 100% of the time EVERY time.

I don't think you were a member when it was passed...I remember people saying things like.."if you have nothing to hide I don't see a problem with it....Like no search warrants, being held without cause, wiretaps without a court order..and so forth....just a bite of the Constitution...
Whist the reason was well intended..the road to heII is paved with good intention too....

Exactly...whilst good intentioned....its an asumption of wrong doing till you prove other wise.....THEY should have to prove their is a reason for the tests...its all backwards...

I can tell you from my experience that there were major problems with our ability to "monitor" terrorists. It is NOT as easy as it may seem. While I DO NOT like much of what I read about the PA there was and is a need to modernize our intell systems and laws.

It is a VERY fine line to walk. How to provide the proctection from those who would kill us and still protect our freedoms and civil rights. Many of the lines have become blurred over the years.

We must come up with an answer. The PA might have gone to far and now we are almost giving terrorists a license to kill without any effort to stop them. I don' trust ANY politition and trust Obama less than any.

On a low sodium diet, self imposed....man the sodium we eat in everything...had a hard time passing DOT physical...have to loss weight and rid of water build up...

i mean the Jimmy Dean breakfast bowls...saugage and biscuit gravy...andything in a can or box....all them frozen meals...just loaded with salt....fast food....one Wendys little stacker is 800mg's and 400 for the small fries is 50% of the daily requirement in 2 bits!!

Those steamers are pretty handy....I've stocked up on Mrs Dashes spices to experiment with flavor without the salt....
Eating more fruit and drinking more water....
