Rafael T. Cruz, son of a Cuban who fought for and with Fidel Castro in the revolution

First let me say it doesn't matter to me in any way but, it strikes me as comical how so many on the right are taken or have been taken by the likes of Rafael "Ted" Cruz. For those who don't know, Cruz's father was born and raised in Cuba. When he was 14 years old he took up arms in the fight against Batista with none other than Fidel Castro! The elder Mr. Cruz claims he eventually woke up and realized Castro was a bad guy and fled to the U.S. Honestly though, what else was he going to say after defecting here? For the record I think he is probably telling the truth.

The funny thing to me is that this is never brought up, or at least not to the extent that "Obama is a Muslim" is brought up. "Barry's dad" was a muslim scumbag. Obummer is a filthy muslim too" He is a communist etc, etc, blah blah blah. I can only imagine if Obama had a similar heritage to Mr. Cruz how absolutely every day we would never hear the end of it... Oh the hypocrisy....

You really can't compare the actions of a 14 year old that later woke up with the continued actions of a person throughout adulthood.

You forgot that Mr. Cruz was also born in the socialist country of Canada. Precisely Calgary, Alberta.

What else would you expect [other than hypocrisy] from the party that has introduced legislation to make legal abortion nearly impossible to get, and trying to dissuade the women who manage it by requiring transvaginal ultrasounds [the most invasive kind possible], but is now running scary ads regarding the government getting between people & their medical decisions?
The party that declares itself against government regulation, then introduces hundreds of new regulations designed to put family planning clinics out of business?
The party that frowns on welfare, unless it's corporate?
The party that slams the opposition for 'pandering' to minorities, then shows up at Hispanic Heritage events to promise them governmental love?
Hypocrites R Us is the Republican modus operandi.

An ultrasound is the way pregnant women see an image of the fetus, generally done with a 'wand' across the abdomen. A transvaginal places the wand inside, for a 'better' view, [necessary in the earliest months of pregnancy, when most abortions are done.]
Republican legislators have been requiring this procedure in [if memory serves] 14 states now, before an abortion can be done. It's a blatant attempt to coerce women into feeling guilty, because they made a decision the Republican lawmakers don't like.
It makes the ads ranting against "government interference in medical care" grossly inappropriate, because it's exactly what they've been passing legislation to accomplish. And not because their constituents demand it [they mostly do not approve of it] but because the Republican party itself does, and they have the financial power to approve campaign funds.
Even if the majority of citizens wanted to overturn Roe vs Wade [which they don't], there are so many more important issues to be addressed, but this is what the Republicans have been getting done instead.
