Instead of a pic-a-day today I want to pay homage to one more mom and pop eaten by the diesel machine....
While the truckstop was lacking or at least typical of what you find close to Chi town R Place was a great place to eat and I loved the memorabilia...
I understand that R-Place will be here for at least 2 more years but the fast food gremlins have already perched there...

Fat Tues is Feb 5th,2008 [span is February 3 to March 9] So this year's as early as I can ever remember.

"j'ai espoir de" .......... alot earlier than anyone of us would like.

Gotta get down to the Quarter this year with camera and "Flash"..
I need Jackson square, Cafe Du Mond and the Court of Two Sisters in my portfolio...
A little light hearted Jazz hall music and Zydeco would make my world OK right about now..
I went on down to the Audubon Zoo and they all asked for you...

We've never stopped at that TA, seems we don't run that section of I-80 We'll have to make a point of trying to get there before it "goes by the wayside". Just like the TA off I-90 Pembroke, NY. The restaurant was excellent, until the TA took over. Same ole greasy grub.

In all honesty they are way overpriced but you get what you order, good food.
They have a culinary artist hiding behind a bakers hat..

If memory serves me ( which it does sometimes ), they have a burger that's a tad bigger then the norm... I always enjoyed stopping there and it's a shame the real truck stops are disappearing and being replace by "travel centers". It's been a few years since I've run up that way,thanks mrgoodtude for the pics .
