Questions..

This may sound really akward.. However, I am doing a report for college, and I need to know information on expediting companies.. I know a lot has changed since the economy decided to plummet. I am doing this strictly on straight trucks. I know everything that I need to know about Express-1. So, if you know the rates, and technology, etc about panther, fedex, bolt, or tri-state, I could really use your help..

I am pretty much doing a swot report comparing express-1 with other expediting companies.. I don't want to spend all day on the phone with recruiters when I am not looking for a job..

Any help is appreciated.. Thank You.

FedEx operates on a percentage basis as does a couple others.

Technology? what do you mean? Like qualcomm?

Angil,

Can you please elaborate on the "etc". part? If you have specific questions - you will get a better response. For the record - what is your major? :)

Eh, I wiggled my way through the SWOT analysis. It is amazing how ridiculous some of these classes can be.

As far as my major goes, I graduated last week with an associates degree in criminal justice. I am thinking about switching it up a little bit for my bachelors degree though. I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up, so who knows.

Congratulations!

Regarding your BA or BS, consider a double major with a practical course of study like business or chemistry (something that you will use in the real world) and a major that many people consider impractical like English, Philosophy or other liberal arts. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised to discover just how much the liberal arts can help you develop your ability to think and communicate. On a resume a practical major combined with a liberal arts major will distinguish you from students who went with one major alone. You have to take a certain number of courses anyway to graduate. Plan your program to graduate from Berkeley with two majors.

This is advice from a double major graduate (Philosophy, History) who would do one practical and one liberal if he had it to do it over again.

Yeah, that is what I was planning on doing anyway. I figured that I would find out what I was good at when I went for my associates degree, and then do a double major in the top two areas that I did well in. I am taking 12 weeks off to regain my edge that I lost while having a lot on my plate, and then hit the books again. It seems like whatever week that I have the most projects due, or exams to due is when they want to run the snot out of me. So, I need a little R & R.

Are you taking online classes? If so, are the online degrees as good as the real degrees? Just wondring because i'm planning on a part time return to college.

Yes, I do online classes. The degrees can be just as good as attending, or they may not be. You have to do your homework, and make sure it is an accredited college, and also make sure that the degree won't say online. A lot of the top schools are offering online classes now, because people have hectic schedules, and can't leave their job, or kids to attend every day. Just make sure you do your homework on it, and you should be good to go. Try to find one that offers classes at a campus, as well as online, and doesn't base their entire curriculum on the internet (those are usually not reputable). I did my entire 18 months online, however, I could have taken classes at one of the campuses as well.
