Wisconsin's signs say all trucks over 4 tons. I skate by because it says nothing about vans. I only stop if placarded or once I got an official escort.
Iowa was all commercial vehicles over 8,000#. Now most of the signs read over 10,000#. Again I never stopped unless placarded.
Michigan, I never stop. Kentucky, I never stop. I realize I am taking a chance in some of these states. If I ever get pulled over I will be my usual polite and ignorant self. It comes naturally.
I did stop at the Florida Agriculture and Aquaculture inspection station on I-75. After a 10 minute wait in line, I pulled up to the throne only to have a hand in the window impatiently wave me on.
Turtle, do they ever hassle you over the aquaculture laws? Do you turn over your one-handed magazines like "Totally Terrapin" or "Galapagos Gals"?
