In the states where the truck speed limit is 55 I usually run 62MPH, and I've never had a bear even give me a second glance.

In MI, when the construction zone sign says 60, I go 55MPH.

I have no other answers.

I run up US 23 a lot and normally in the middle of the night. I do'nt remember exactly what exit it is---somewhere between the 40 and 60( I 96) theres always a city kitty sitting on the entrance ramp. At 75 mph, he has'nt bothered me and I sure as hell ai'nt gonna bother him!

THEN IT SHOULD SAY 55 FOR TRUCKS.
It doesn't,it says speed limit 60 MPH.
Maybe the state is too broke from Granholms politics
To change the signs.

Yes, it's still 55 for trucks across MI, for now. . I wish they'd let me buy my plates elsewhere so I didn't have to admit that i'm from the land of rough roads and slow speeds. Am I the only one that is puzzled about the lack of truck parking on the north side of detroit. It's usually a 10 a day board at p2, can't we justify a truck stop with all that freight moving?

I think the cost of land and the high taxes make a major truckstop an expensive proposition. It is frustrating when you deliver up there. I've been kicked out of the Auburn Hills Meijers. Sorry you could'nt make it this weekend. Hopefully the freight gods will smile for a while and Murphy will leave you alone.

When a construction sign says 55MPH,or 45MPH that is what I drive at. Sure some people get upset behind me when it is single lane traffic. The question I ask is traveling faster through a construction zone worth the possibility of hurting or killing a worker that is just doing their job. Could I spend the rest of my life knowing that because I needed to drive 5MPH or 10MPH faster ruined the lives of not only the individual you hurt but the families involved yours and theirs.

The small amount of time savings of driving to fast in a construction zone is not worth the possible tragedy.

I think maybe the Engineer that decides to close two or three parallel roads at the same time should stand out there with the workers and take his chances with the irate driving public. I don't understand it. Where do they get these guys? Maybe they just do things like that in Michigan. I'd move if I didn't love it here. :)

What i think is funny is that in michigan construction there is miles and miles of cones for a little patch job and thats it. Do we just have too many cones that we need to just put them out all over the place.
