OK, How is this for a problem. My ProHeat came on the other night to re-charge the batteries. I was not in my truck at the time. It blew a cork and I found oil EVERYWHERE on the unit and my parking spot at the house. The engine did shut down and there is no sign of a spontanious dis-asembly. I looked it over and could not see anything loose, then again, there was a lot of oil so I could have miseed something. Anyone ever have this problem with your boat anchor, er, ProHeat? If so, what was it? I have to get in in the shop as soon as I am home next time. Back to the old idling game. Layoutshooter

check oil pressure sensor on rear of unit, they have a tendancy to leak through, and in fairly high volume once they start.

we had a similar challenge with ours. good news is this is something you can fix yourself
if you are inclined.

Is it high or low on the unit? I don't know what to look for. I can to minor work, if it's easy. I am kinda not too smart about these things. Layoutshooter

Is the oil filter screwed on tight? If you can unscrew it by hand, it is too loose and may be the source of your leak.

Thanks Phil, but I already checked that. It was tight. I wish I knew more about things like this. It is raining hard here today so I won't be crawling around under the truck to look further. I do miss the fuel savings, running the big plant just to stay cool enough to sleep is expensive. Layoutshooter

its right in the center of the eingine, at the rear. there is a single wire coming out of it.

you'll have to remove the complte cover to
access it.
