So along with that whose job is it to measure the skids and whatnot b/c I remember sitting up in Milwaukee and they sent me a load i had to dh to Waukegon (up by the U.P. of Michigan about 200 mi north of milwaukee and the skid was 6' wide 10' long. Now someone please explain how that will fit into a cargo van....Anyway i got 50$ for the dry run and dh to the shipper but i still had to drive the 200 mi back to milwaukee...

R&B post,
"My wife and I have been driving for Panther since April of this year and have had several loads cancel. We never asked why and never knew how to check anywhere to see what happened to them. We never even thought to. But I will tell you this. We delivered a load to the consignee and the consignee asked us if we were going to pick up a load they booked with Panther just a few minutes before we arrived. We said we knew nothing about this. The consignee, now the shipper, called Panther and asked if we could take the load as we were already there. Panther said no. They already had a truck on the way and it would be there in 2 hours. So, If you think there is any nonsense, shenanigans, tomfoolery, incompetence, fiddling around, buddy system, deceptions, favoritism or any behaviors along these lines at Panther, I would have to disagree. "

You should know why your load was cancelled. Several loads cancelling since April is a lot. You may be doing something wrong without knowing it. At least wrong in the eyes of the department watching the load. General freight, NLM, Elite Services or whatever.

At 47 mph, which is Panthers' speed to determine time frame per distance to pick-up, two hours is only 94 miles and deadhead is paid after the first 100 miles according to policy.

Just because the dispatcher said they had a truck on the way and it would be there in two hours doesn't mean the truck was rolling, and it could have been down the street, or it could have been a, "hometyme",(sic) truck.

Lots to know and drivers need to know it.
