Last time I had an 8-5 job, I hated going to work, getting up in the morning to fight the traffic, dealing with the idiots on the phone at work, worrying about crazy deadlines, the clients are right no matter what - your the idiot even though you've been in the field 35 years and they just got their Macintosh and know everything, fighting the traffic coming back home.

So to answer your question, do what makes you truly happy. If it doesn't work you will look back and say that was a stupid idea. If you don't get back in you will look back and wish you did.

I have no desire to do the 8-5 again. Driving is/was relaxing for me and very close to a paid vacation. Once the bucks are back in the bank, back out I go.
