Did I miss another mega-merger?

I'm merging with Express-1, but it's not a done deal yet. It might take until Wednesday to get all the details ironed out and the paperwork done. I tried to get Panther to come aboard as well, but we couldn't come to an agreement on whose dispatchers to use.

C'mon Charles. Why'd ya have to go that way. You know that once the Fed dumps their CC division into my company and T-state merges, you're going to have a lot of competition. Better hire some new recruiters to drop some innocent "spam" ads onto the EO forum.

Oh, and fire up and extra coffee pot. Better make it dark roast.

You didn't know? North American Van Lines, Schneider, and J.B. Hunt were merging? They are going to call it the North American Pumpkin Hunt. They started working things out yesterday. Everything should be squared away at lunch time, supper time at the very latest tomorrow. You should be able to read all about it Tuesday morning in the Wall Street Journal.

You're exactly 100% correct. It's not like this is NEW news. The auto biz's has been falling off for many years.
Those interested in getting out of this rut may just wanna start thinking about the "other" ways to make you and your truck some income.

.....are you saying two men and a truck will take a 22' sleeper truck?:D:D

How true! . Buy union, eat union and live union. But when it comes to liver... I don't even like liver. But I do like onions. Teamster picked onions! Teamster trucked onions! Teamster grocery house distributed onions. I like onions. Put them all in the same bowel and what do you get?

i thought you wrote bowl:eek:.

in our kitchen you get danish liverpaste. add anchovies and grind 6 times. never know they are there.

I have been working for Prestige for about six weeks now and they can't find me loads anywhere in the country. I keep on hearing excuses like; it's monday and things are slow on monday, it's friday and things are either really busy on fridays of really slow fridays.

They keep on telling me that they are bidding on over a hundred loads an hour. That's more than one bid per minute. Their dispatchers must be really good. I heard they had to call in the fire department to hose down the keyboards because they were bidding on so many loads the keys caught on fire. I also heard they have to buy new CPU's every couple of hours because they burn them out due to the amount of bidding they do on NLM. Yesterday, they almost had me a load, but the computer overheated before they could win the bid.

Oh, wait in the area "we have regular customers!" Well, apparently after I was hired on "all of their regular customers" conveniently stopped calling in loads. I guess this company is going to hell in a handbasket. I heard they had trouble paying the light bill this month and had to use parafin candles to light up the dispatch office. They also make their dispatchers come to work wearing glow in the dark t-shirts so they can see where they are going in the middle of the night. Sometimes they force their dispatchers to leave their cars running in the parking lots with HVAC hoses piped in off their ac units to provide the office with air-conditioning. It's really bad; beware of them!

I'm not with Prestige now but they are far from going under, They made over $178 million last year from reports. They have one of the largest delivery systems in US. The expediting is just a small part. I used to work for both (Delivery & Expediting) and have a friend who is management position, and they are doing well. They do lots of pharmacy, Staples, Corp Express, Automotive, Case New Holland, John Deere plus more routes on a desinated runs in 10 states and have over 40+ warehouses that most are owned. They are a private company not on stock exchange. But anyone told you they couldn't pay their light bill was a bareface liar. Wish they owed me thousands , for three years I was with them never once had trouble with their payroll bouncing. Dayton, Ohio has over 50 drivers alone, so its not true they are going under.

Dunno.

I guess anythings possible tho.

All I know, is that i'd go friggen nutz if I was sitten around somewhere for long periods of time. I did my share waitin [short periods of time] for the beep in my two years with the Fed. Back then we were more concerned with 36 hour re-sets than we were with sitten. Allots changed in the 2 1/2 years since we left.
Personally, i'd do just bout anything to generate revenue. If I had to move furniture....so be it. If you own or are making payments on a vehicle, then you've got to progress past the barrier of what's keeping you sitting.

This thread was just started by someone with a grudge I would suspect, I quit Prestige but know they never ran into problems, you can't run puters without the electric, why would someone bash a company with mostly lies. He has really lost his credible with this site. There is to much bad you can say about any company as well as good but to plain lie is wrong.
