Did you notice the source of the above quote?

On the other hand, this came from the head of the Consumer Product Safety Commission: “This is a hidden hazard,” CPSC Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. told the outlet. “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”

And this from two Democrat senators: "Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.) sent a letter to the agency in December urging it to take action against the appliances, saying they are a “cumulative burden” on minority and low-income households."

Yes, the CPSC could just as easily have proposed a requirement for ventilation hoods with gas stoves, but that wouldn't have enhanced their war on fossil fuels would it? Ventilation hoods are already required by building codes in most areas for commercial stoves anyway, but thanks for helping make my point.
The "war on fossil fuels" has nothing to do with what they are proposing, its a health issue. And he is right, really old houses with gas stoves have no proper ventilation in the kitchens, which does impact low income people the most. Other than encouraging switching to electric with incentives, there is not much that can be done. A lot of old houses only have a 100 amp service which is not enough for an electric stove.

We have been cooking on gas stoves for a long time, new technology has shown us how bad it is for us in our homes, so the question is, what are we going to do about it?

This is a big-government solution looking for a problem, and the war on fossil fuels is its basis. At least 40% of American homes are using gas stoves with no problems, in spite of what recent "studies" and "research" may claim. There are always some crackpot college professors willing to take govt. funding to do research that will come up with the desired results. The problem is that the people who have been using gas stoves haven't had the aforementioned problems. So what will they do about it? Nothing, except maybe add some vent hoods. Meanwhile, this ridiculous idea will go up in a puff of smoke.

So the explosion of childhood asthma is not a problem, got it.

There is no causal link between childhood asthma and gas stoves. This is all about big government control.

“Ventilation is where this discussion should be”, after all “cooking produces harmful emissions regardless of the kind of stove” and a ban wouldn’t address “concerns about overall indoor air quality” which is currently “unregulated”.
Do you see where this is going?
It’s not about gas stoves, and it’s not about asthma – it’s about “indoor air pollution”, and more importantly how they plan on “regulating” it.

In one of those startling coincidences we’ve all got so used to witnessing in modern geopolitics, just as the US is talking about indoor air quality because of gas stoves, other countries around the world are doing the same thing for totally different reasons."

Bringing the Biden documents discussion over to the Biden thread, a 5th batch of classified documents has been discovered at the Biden residence dating back to his time in the Senate. With documents this old, found under these circumstances, one has to start thinking about the influence peddling accusations that have been leveled at Biden, son Hunter, and brother James. Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely that the FBI, DOJ, or Special Prosecutor will dig into this aspect. Also, don't expect any blue-lights raids on any of the Biden domiciles, with or without an invitation.

It is the fact that Biden had documents out of a scif and many with out even security clearance to even have in his possession but they raided trumps home and office.
If you don't see a double standard here YOU are part of the problem.

Another aspect that ties together all of the Biden/Democrat/DOJ/media skulduggery is that they're all related to their efforts to influence elections.
  • The Hunter Biden laptop scandal was quashed and dismissed as Russian disinformation - right before the 2020 election.
  • The Mar-a-Lago raid went down on Aug 8, 2022 - right before the midterm elections. Likely, the Jan 6 committee also had a hand is this.
  • The first Biden document discovery happened on Nov 2, but was put on ice until after the '22 midterm elections.
  • The Twitter releases expose the extent that FBI officials and others were involved in censorship directed towards effecting election results, in addition to Covid policy, border policy and other issues - all of which were related to producing favorable propaganda for the Biden administration.
In spite of the Biden team being in full-blown coverup mode right now, the story is getting legs with the legacy media to the point even they can't gloss over the discovery of classified documents dating back to Biden's senatorial days - possession of which is clearly illegal. It sounds like there are factions in the Democrat party that don't want him running in '24, and are creating a reason for him to decline seeking a 2nd term. Imagine VP Harris and Gov. Newsome slugging it out in a Democrat primary

And it was found out that Biden copied classified information from classified documents on to notebooks so he would have the information stored if the files were confiscated.

Only Commander In Chief Joe Biden could top his own military embarrassment of the Afghanistan withdrawal. After allowing a Chinese spy balloon to traverse our entire country from Alaska to South Carolina before timidly shooting it over the Atlantic Ocean, he goes full badass and sends our fighter jets after "unknown objects" that turn out to likely be civilian hobby or recreational balloons. This would be funny if this clown wasn't making decisions effecting our involvement in Ukraine that could lead us into a serious shooting war in Europe.

No wonder he didn't take any question after his statement yesterday. Embarrassing...
