Biden said that he produced more oil in his first year in office than Trump in his first year.

Joe (epic) fails to mention that his first year was lower than Trump’s second year. That Joes first year was lower than Trump’s third year. And Joe’s first year was lower than Trump’s fourth year.
A key fact was - Trump had to undo Obama’s restrictions in his first year and it took some time for companies to reboot and produce more oil.

A lot of these jobs are coming back from the covid layoffs, like the ones in the leisure and hospitality industry (the leading sector). Also, people are having to get off their asses and go to work since their govt welfare has ended. The problem is that wages still aren't keeping up with inflation, and people that have to commute are getting killed with gas prices.

Still cleaning up the mess from Agent Orange's disastrous handling of the pandemic which cratered the oil industry.
Similar to how Obama had to clean up the mess The Shrub left him.
Thankfully, Baker-Hughes reports another 13 drilling rigs were added just this past week (ending on 3/11/22) bringing the currently active US rotary drilling rig total up to 663.
That's considerably up from low point of 242 that somehow were still active week-ending August 14, 2020 ... after Trump flubbed the pandemic response.
With well over 4000 active rigs in the past there isn't a lot of reason to genuflect and gush over 663. Unless one is overfilled with koolaid I guess.
