Leasing companies are anywhere from .08 to .11 cents per mile for maintenance. If you are buying one, then that depends on the trucks age and many other factors.

It's a 379 Pete.

Is it new or 20 years old?

What's the drive train?

Team operation or solo?

I could go on... The point is, it's tough to answer a question that vague. Dave gave a good answer, but I suspect the guy was looking for something more like $XXX.00 per month.

Embarrassing folks isn't the intent - getting them to think is the idea, when they ask a question that cannot be answered.

Fair enough. But there's always someone who is more knowledgeable, too, so some you win, some you lose. But the more thought you put into it [and effort], the less you lose.

Why PM? PMs are for subjects not of general interest, or nobody else's business - the answer to this question might be of general interest, if there were enough info for anyone to answer it.
Like: how many chicken lights are we talking here? ;)

This is the best I can do for you. Oil changes are roughly 320 at speed co, I do mine every 25,000. Factor in an additional .07 for new and .10 for older truck and you will be on the right track. You want to have a substantial amount available to you until you get your maint. Account built. I started with a little over 10k in a savings acct and added to it constantly until it got to 25k and then forgot about it. Truth be told you can never have to much set aside for unexpected repairs. They are like the dot, sneak up on you when you least expect it. :) good luck.
