So I have a few extra hrs and figure good time for an oil change ,stop in at local speed o in franklin ky
Shop seems clean and ready for my truck to get some tlc under the hood so I tell Em to do the full Monty oil ,fuel, lube ,start truck build up oil pressure all is good ,pay the bill and pull out and down the street, crap truck dies, I walk inside and tell Em to come fix what they broke. They don't do repairs they said and gave me the number of a local road service WTF ...... Mechanic comes out and spends the next hr trying to start me ,gives up! So now I get towed back to speedco and they spend another hr priming and trying to get me running as I'm now fuming
I walk around and by their workbench I then discover the trouble as I hand the guys( 4 of them min you who are scratching their privates wondering what's wrong ) the fuel filter gasket! Duh
Avoid their shop I wasn't a satisfied customer!!

Speedco should be good for the tow plus.

Did the mobile guy ever pull the filter ?

Speedco is real good about doing the right thing when they cause a problem. I use them exclusively for my oil changes and the problems have really been few. When I consider the other options, truck stops or high dealership prices, I think they're a good choice. I've been to the Franklin location several times and not had a problem.

I had one bad time at a Speedco. It was so long ago I don't remember now what the problem was. What I do remember is I notified corporate and they not only covered the added cost but also gave me a nice discount on my next service. I don't know if they subrogated to the specific dealer or not but they seem to be very concerned about corporate image and doing the right thing. I've heard of enough problems at the (insert truckstop shop name here) and at the (insert dealer name here) to have no more confidence in random choices among those as a random stop at a Speedco.

I know crap happens but it shouldn't have taken hrs to deal with
At least I made my delivery in time this morning.

I'd have to think the mobile mech was a guy that couldn't the grade at Speedco.

You drive into Speedco fine. You pull out and quickly run out of fuel/quit running.

Any idiot lites prior to quittng ?
No. Pull filter. Is it full ? Is gasket ok ?
Refill and try. Maybe try new filter.

If idiot lites, look for wires knocked off a sensor. Then go to fuel filter..

You should have been able to drive it back to Speedco. Hours earlier .

You are the 3rd person I have talked to that had problems with Speedco which is enough reason for me to not use them, obviously the people they hire aren't that great.
I would rather pay more and not have those headaches than use a company that have those problems even if they make it right.

I quit using Speedco for years.
I went back for convenience.

I have found great locations and poor locations.
Perrysburg Oh has some sharp people in it.
I'll never return to West Memphis, Ar.

Was at one that just switched to all Baldwin filters. No thanks. I call ahead.

You've never had an issue getting something done at a dealership? If I thought paying more would give me some assurance I'd do it. I just haven't found that to be the case.

Hmmm... 3 problems out of how many million services performed? Granted there are certainly more than 3 total problems I'm sure but I've heard plenty of stories about problems at (insert truckstop shop name here) and at (insert private shop name here) and at (insert dealer shop name here). It's a gamble every time in every shop unless/until you're familiar enough to know the shop and them know you in which case maybe you get a little more attention to detail.

And then you still could have a problem. Nature of the beast...
