Bison, S.D. without a doubt. I've heard about "Those Shorts"

We are no longer allowed to talk about "those shorts" in here. It is no longer considered funny, it is old stuff and I get yelled at when I make cracks about those unbelievable, gaudy, wild, mind blowing shorts!! What ya got in your bag of tricks for Expo this year, OVM?

Anywhere in Wyoming is a bad place, those wolves and bears will break in your truck and rob you clean. LOL

:( I am hanging my head in shame. I offer my utmost appologies to OVM for any mention of "those shorts". :(

While in Wyoming, at one truckstop I saw the three bears breaking in Goldie Locke's Sprinter. They said it was a payback for her breaking in their house. At another truckstop, I saw the three little pigs chasing the big bad wolf there because he stoled their battery out of their truck.LOL

I have yet to get a return load from Detroit. The people at the auto plants are very friendly, but I won't stay anywhere in that area. I just began doing this in January, but being a retired Deputy Sheriff, I know enough to not tempt fate in Detroit.

Biker Paul, I sent you a PM :D

I am now pushing 60 years old. I can no longer "mix it up" with a 18 year old punk. It has always been smarter to avoid problems, at any point in my life, than to put myself in harms way. I was always able to handle problems when things were equal. Neither Mrs. Layoutshooter nor I carry our "equalizers" on the truck. It would be safer for us if we did, but there are just far too many problems with that situation to make it worth the effort. Law enforcement does very little to protect the safety of those on the street.

We stay at the Petro in West Memphis all the time. We park our ST in the front lot and have never had any problems.

just spent one night in gary. it was actually quiet for an inner city j. chefd does it all the time. not my fave place along with the t-a at exit 5,iirc.

if we drop in detroit its out to the burbs for a panera wifi session or sleep.

seattle/tacoma j is real tacky and on top of that no van frt.(maybe turtles experience is different. paid traveler that he is)

never spent time in the dallas j but did spend 3 days at the t-a well out of town. quiet there too but no internet.

saginaw, boyne city and points north of flint also.

If I need to be in Detroit, and I often do, I will only stay north of 696, west of 275 or south of xt 32 on 75. I usually end up at the BP on 275 at xt 8 (cheap clean showers). The only time I will stay inside that ring is if I am sitting at DutyFree waiting to cross the bridge, CBP is through there every 5 minutes or so so I feel safe.

I stayed at the Pilot in Charlotte once, went to sleep at 2pm and when I woke up at 9pm to go potty.....I left...very quickly.

Gary IN, I will stay at the J at xt15...but not at xt 9!!

I Won't Stay at the "J" In Dallas, Too Many Ho's that seem to have a Free Ticket to Beat on your Doors at All Hours of the Night! I will Usually Keep on Going or Find a Walmart!

Been to Dallas many times and had many knocks on the doors. LOL Hubby and I have a little scenario we like to play out for the ladies of the night. They will usually come up to the trk when hubby is up front by himself so he will just yell back to me "Honey, can I have a lizard tonight?" to which I reply, "No honey, the last one gave the dogs fleas!" They usually retreat to another truck after our little lizard play. Although I will say there was one. I was sitting upfront in the passenger seat. We had the windows down and hubby was standing outside talking to another driver when a lizard came up and offered them her services they both told her no so she came around to my side of the truck, looked up at me and smiled, I must say I was momentarily speechless as I looked at this woman. Finally I asked "What, you want me to convince them? They said no, go away! She smiled at me an walked away. I still get a laugh out of that one. Oh, and then there was the one toothed one that propositioned hubby, that was another funny one! Hubby gagged, I laughed! So see lot lizards serve there purpose too! They make us laugh. Nothing like free entertainment! :D
