Pilot screws the little guy again

Your right on about the growing pains!

It must be a pain for these companys to figure out what works best for them.

First off they hire someone straight out of college with a marketing degree that convinces management that they have the golden key (so to speak) and can restructure everything and make a killer profit in no time flat.

The oil company industry reported record profits in the recent pass, maybe that's how they can afford to make these type of changes now that they've got theirs!

Oh one other thing that pilot started (to save paper I guess) is the use of this other machine in case you need an extra copy of your receipt, First you wait in line at the counter to pay for your fuel and now you have to wait in another line if you need two copies of your fuel receipt.........Great for Pilot but the driver wants to get back on the road and not another delay.

It's been ststed that C units can't run large fuel tanks because it would decrease load capacity . It seems to me it would be worthwhile to run large tanks and add extra fuel when deadheading or running light loads . The large tank capacity also favors tractors in the earnings debate of tractors vs D units . Anyone that has ever deadheaded out of FL knows you can save quite a bit if you can put on enough fuel in GA to get in and out of FL without paying high FL fuel prices . The same is true in many other areas .

SO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

Plain and simple....VOTE WITH YOUR FEET (or your tires). Pilot has been screwing the "little" guy since their time began and will continue to do so until they can't compete anymore. It's just like the government, "Let the government continue to erode your rights and they will."(but I'll leave that for another discussion in another fourm). I have been buying my fuel at the "J" (check out the "J's" bank account), and will continue to until they start doing the same, then I will once again "vote with my feet". If enough expediters pass their words of dissatisfaction along, by doing so, eventually they will (or hopefully will) get the picture, or suffer irrecoverable losses.(The old song "It's too late to say I'm sorry "rings in my head.) We (expediters/ o/o /independents) may only be a small portion of the business to be had, but we do contribute to their bottom line, and we do continue to grow in numbers. One voice doesn't mean much to a large corporation such as pilot, 100's and 1,000's of voices will be heard and responded to.
As a business owner I believe that I must watch every penny that I make, and to get the whole dollar I MUST "pick up ALL of the pennies." I will not put cheap freight in my truck just to do someone else a favor, and I will definately not over pay for fuel, any worse that I have to, when I have that luxury.
He who really wants my business will EARN it, and I will gladly give it to him/her. If they really don't want it I'll go somewhere else. PLAIN AND SIMPLE!
If you want to cheat me, steal from me, be rude to me, short with me, be mean or just plain ugly to me, FORGET IT! I am a human being, an American, born and raised, with the right to vote, even if it is with my feet. I don't deserve it, respect it, or for that matter deserve the lack of respect of it. I WILL go somewhere that I am appreciated! Someplace that wants my business! I WILL GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
