Phone scanner

Which app do you use for scanning with your phone? I have been using "scan to pdf" with very mixed results. Lighting seems to be the difference.

Does anyone have a better app or suggestions on getting consistent quality?

I am using Motorola Droid Bionic. I have made a couple of real impressive scans... the rest?....not so impressive.

I had downloaded camscanner but never used it. It takes a little more time to learn. The scan to pdf was simple. Soooo... I gave camscanner a second look just now. The auto enhance feature in camscanner looks like it may be the key I was looking for. Scan to pdf has an auto enhance feature but it has never worked that well for me. Camscanner did.

Are you using the free version or the paid?

I use the free version but I don't need it often. If you get the paid version, let us know if it's better, would ya??

I started off with the free one, but upgraded to the paid version. I use it almost daily because my company accepts the BOL's I upload with it to pay me. Not really much difference in the two, just no ads with the paid one.

That would be great, wish our carrier would accept that.

It really is great, company says copy it better than a faxed copy and I'm through with my paperwork before I leave the dock.

Thanks for the info. I'll go ahead and get the paid version. My company will accept it as long as the quality is there. I don't think the scan to pdf was going to get it done but this looks promising.

I got the paid version and I can't really tell much difference in overall operation. I have found that I have camera settings available now that I don't remember having before?

If you open the scanner and click on the camera button (bottom left of touch screen), then click on the button at the bottom left of your "phone", you get a really nice set of camera options. Try that on your free version, I may have been overlooking it before (I'm pretty bad about that).

I am getting some real quality scans now. That is exactly what I needed!

Thanks tenntrucker for the push...that's what I needed to dig a little deeper into the camscanner. The scan to pdf is in my trash bin..lol.

Glad to have been helpful, one thing I've found is to have good lighting when taking the picture of the document. The better the light, the clearer PDF you will get.

Lighting is definitely the key. I did find though that the camera settings can be adjusted to the point of getting a decent pdf with less than optimal lighting.
