Looking at straight truck and JJ is very special. He only has the use of 3 legs and has never been outside. He could not defend himself outdoors,And he has been with us sence he was about 4 weeks old he is about a year old now,we found him in a parking lot of a store,it seems the owner and his wife injured JJ trying to get him out of the store he is our baby and we would probley have a hard time finding some one who would love him the way we do, so we are going to try to take him with us on our adventures.....We will be comming to the Expo but JJ will not be with us we are just gathering info........Sorry about your cat.

There is a chance you will be required to cross the border into Canada. Ensure that your pet has all the current vacinations, especially rabies, and that you carry up to date proof from a licensed vet with you.

I have met three people who kept cats in a straight truck. the ONLY problem is the smell of the litter box.

One the box under the bunk with a vent and fan installed, something like a 12 volt box fan that had a low current draw. It kept most of the smell out of the sleeper.

We have friends that travel with a cat and love it. She brushes the cat daily to get rid of some of the cat hair. The worse problem they have had was the cat food leaked in the storage area and made a terrible smell. They just take extra care to keep everything clean. There car is also a young cat and appears to be purrrfectly happy traveling all over. What RobA said is true have your papers in good order to cross into Canada. We have our dog with us and cross into Canada often without any trouble. We are also like you we have had our dog 11 years and she is part of us. Good Luck!!

So this morning I am pulling out of the pilot in centerville OH to go to my pickup and stop to let traffic go by. I look up at the truck parked across the street and see a kitten staring at me out of the vent window.

Cats in trucks, what a concept.

Uhh.... I thought I was sitting at the pilot on US 23. Is there a wormhole somewhere in Ohio that I don't know about?

My mistake, this is what I get for not paying attention.

I meant Circleville. I got these two mixed up again, sorry.

The funny thing is I am sitting at the walmart using a connection from across the stree, just south of me where I just filled up at the same Pilot I saw something odd, a Panther van with a Kayak and a bike on the top, A/C on the door and a generator chained to the back. I was going to say hi, but it looked all buttoned up there so I snapped a picture for my wife to see and went on my way.

That van was at seville parked at the Pilot this weekend. Was kind of wierd to see this set up. But hey if it works. I know it was really hot and humid there so i know the AC was certainly working. I also seen another van with an AC sticking out the side window, not sure how the aero dynamics of that would of been but like i said if it keeps ya cool and it works.... GO FOR IT!!!

Ohh an to keep this post on topic. I will have my cat with me when i drive w/ my g/f in a few months.

It was great to meet both of you yesterday, Neon. Best of luck to you.

Greg, you were in Ohio and not at the show?

Yes I was in Ohio and not at the show.

This week has been busy.

Got several hazmat loads this week starting tuesday.

Thursday I just got my van unloaded and FedEx was on the phone with a run for Friday morning to Canada. Got home to have freinds stop by and learned that one of them and his workers were at my favorite resturant around the corner form customs at the same time I was coming out of customs. (I had a lot of F.U.N. with the load going into Canada.) Got to sleep at 2AM when everyone left. Saturday I am sleeping and FedEx got me out of bed to take some sort of weird box to a company I delivered to on Tuesday and got something going back home on the way up to the Pilot in Circleville where I was going to sleep. It worked out really good, it has been a really odd week, almost a all hazmat week.

SO you decide.....

I hear ya. That's why I only made it to 2 of the past shows. By the middle of August I was running well after the July slowdown. Glad to hear your running well. That is strange about the haz-mat. I've only had it twice in 7 and a half years.
