If Perry is for putting a 6 shooter in the hands of citizens against home invasions, Im vote n for him. Im 10 miles from any police station in the county, who is gonna get to my house in 2 minutes or less, noooooooooo one. PS, thank goodness Tennesse has a right to carry law, we got PERMITS aaaaaaaaaaaamen.:D I would carry a 50 cal Smith, but it pulls down my pants, got a visual on that one gang. Maybe OVM could send me a pair of his shorts , would that work?

The major news outlets, this morning, are saying the three major contenders for the Republican nomination are Bachmann, Perry and Romney. I fully agree. Pawlenty dropped and others will soon follow suit.

Occasionally, NJ Governor Chris Christie gets a brief mention as a possible late entrant to the GOP field. What a waste of time and energy that would be. A social liberal such as Christie could never secure the GOP nomination. He is good on budgetary items and I like his pugnacious demeanor; yet, a social liberal has zero chance of winning the South or other conservative regions of the country.

There is going to be tremendous pushback against liberalism after four years of Obama. This very pushback is what animates the Tea Party movement.

Problem with carrying that much power, even with a belt on, is that it makes you walk with a lean to one side. Very noticeable............:D

Agree about Christie. He is good on some budget issues, but not much else. Don't really get why Ann Coulter is so enamered with him. Maybe she likes fat guys. "There I said it" ( Mark Levin quote) :D

Ann Coulter has come out of the closet as a supporter of homosexual marriage and other items on the gay agenda. Her stock among the conservative movement is declining rapidly. Christie is a social liberal as is Ann Coulter. I am beginning to think folks in the Northeast and Great Lakes region who call themselves conservative really aren't conservative at all. Don't think for a minute this is lost on Southern conservatives. Southern conservatives have a palpable mistrust of Northern Republicans. Half a loaf ain't gonna get it. Advantage to Perry.

Outside of the talking heads, I have yet to find a real conservative politician who can both define what they are and not pander to the other conservative groups.

Is there much difference between Bachmann and Perry besides the obvious?

Actually, there's a huge difference between Perry and Bachman. Perry is more about substance. Bachman is more about theatrics. Perry has actual chief executive experience. Bachman’s experience consists of a stint working for the IRS and her current tenure, representing a small Minnesota district.

Yes agree Perry has more "executive experience" and that may make him more seasoned to be president. Maybe. Disagree that Bachmann isn't about substance. I like her fiscal stances and is attacking Obama on the issues. I just see a lot of simularities between the two. Who is more a social conservative? Flip a coin. Who is a more fiscal conservative? flip a coin. Both look like appealing candidates so far to conservatives.

And your point is? Does that mean Perry will be a good president, and Bachman won't? Bachman has been relatively conservative in her voting for as long as I've heard of her. The Republican establishment took away her reelection funding, and she won anyways. That should tell you something. She's not a friend of the Republican bigwigs. Maybe she can right that ship as president.

I'm not a an of any candidate(Democrat or Republican). However, between these two, Perry is the lesser of the two evils for the reasons I stated in my last post.

Bachman, like Palin is all theatrics, nothing else.
