People are gonna lose their jobs over this… | RedState

The postman delivering the mail this afternoon is long gone. Good thing. At least he didn’t hear the expletives that were thrown out to anyone within earshot as the envelope from Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield was opened and the 2011 rate increase was read.

It appears that, rather than making health care affordable as was promised, ObamaCare is taking our health insurance costs even higher—about $300 per month (or $3600 per year) higher. [Not that anyone with an IQ above an average AFSCME or SEIU member couldn't have figured it out anyway.]

Now, the “right” (read: soon-to-be mandate) of having health care insurance will only cost this family of five $17,705 per year. And, for what?…A couple of doctor visits per kid per year? The occasional prescription of antibiotics? The privilege of having a ‘just-in-case’ policy?

This is something you can take to the bank: People will lose their jobs over this…

As more and more companies, small business owners and workers begin to feel the pinch of ObamaCare’s health care cost increases, there will be less money to spend on economic activity.

Perhaps it will be a few thousand more UAW members who lose their jobs because there will be less people who can afford the monthly car payments due to ObamaCare.

Perhaps it will be a few thousand SEIU janitors who lose their jobs because there are less offices to clean as more companies eliminate office space to help defray the costs of ObamaCare.

Perhaps it will be the SEIU health care worker whose hospital or nursing home is forced to close due to cost rationing.

Perhaps a few thousand more Teamsters will lose their jobs because their companies experience the drop in business from less freight being moved.

Perhaps it will be a few thousand more UFCW grocery workers will lose their jobs because customers shift over to larger big-box (and non-union) stores in order to save money.

Perhaps it will be the union workers in union resort towns like Orlando or Las Vegas who see more jobs lost because fewer Americans will be able to afford vacations.

Perhaps it will be the unionized airline workers who see fewer air travelers taking the vacations, or less businesses holding conventions in faraway cities.

The ramifications of ObamaCare are only now beginning. As more and more see their costs increase, others will feel the effects ripple across the economy—people will lose their jobs over ObamaCare.

They say, over and over again, that elections have consequences.

While most people who will be losing their jobs don’t deserve it, a few do…

Hopefully, on Tuesday, the American people will see to it that those most responsible (219 in the House and 60 in the Senate) will be held accountable.

I had lunch the other day with a few IT guys who run this neat company and have about 150 employees. They said the absolutely best thing that has happened is Obama care because they have been dealing with an issue of moving or staying within this country. They can not compete in this market with the increases they are already seeing to their health care and the Government of Both India and Hong Kong have given them a lot of help to get started.

They are not off-shoring the labor (or talent in their case) but moving the entire company over seas. Their customer base will not see any difference in the service and may enjoy a decrease in hourly rates.

There are people who actually believed, and still believe, that getting everyone in the pot will make their own health care insurance premiums and other health care costs cheaper. I know it sounds like I'm making it up, but I'm not. Seriously, they actually believe that.

The same legislation that mandates heath care insurance also lifted the ceiling for insurance companies to raise premiums. If things are supposed to be cheaper, then there would have been no need for the insurance lobby to the lifting of the premium limit. You know what universal health care in America will accomplish? Pharma and insurance companies making more profits. That's it. Period.

The last thing it will do is provide universal health care.

I can't help but think that the influence of Canada and then Europe so close and the stories of FREE HC...and these Americans not even exploring the cause and effect....just blindly saying We are better then them we should have that...why can't our government do that...

Here is the US the most powerful, greatest country can not even offer free HC like other Lessor countries can..in all the American arrogance they can muster...

The more "free" health care is the more it costs you. Not only in cash out of your pocket but in the loss of freedom that always comes with government control. Lest you forget, Obama care uses FORCE to "insure" health care. THAT is NOT freedom.

Not me. I am FAR to independent to do that. I would have been with the "Minute Men" during the revolution. No musket, a rifle, no red coat and NO standing out in the open 50 yards apart and just shooting at each other. Hiding in ambush is a MUCH better way to go!!

soon every thing will be free to the working man . because all he will be able to do is go to work not get a pay check . because it will be going for his health care , slum houseing , and his food and will have to give up his first born .

does that sound like something old Abe fought against .

But I know of no one in my daily life that doesn't understand that this has to be paid for somehow and that the ppl up north dont get it for free..This was in most part forced on us and for most part everyone I know doesnt want it. From what lil I know bout all this, the arrogance is coming from Washington and not the American ppl.
Yes America is the greatest (but not better)and I'm willing to include Canada in that:D. And if Mexico could get their sheet straight they are welcome here also in my book..Wheter its north, south or the middle (U.S.) The America's,,, the greatest place to be.
