Small claims court. I guessing you had your own vehicle and drove for the company not a fleet owner.

Very sad that they are a very religious family and the name is a very religious name but not a stand up owner

Basically, he is broke. Hopefully you move up on his list and he pays you before he goes under.

And realistically, even if you sue him and win, if he doesnt have any money, you are still not getting paid.

Hopefully it is not a huge amount.

if you have local tv station, we have one in hampton roads, area of va , just though of andy fox showing up get results,
have use threat of him and got a problem fix they don't want to be 6 clock news
give them a call show all paper work you have, they will tell if they can help out

I know that for many of us, this doesn't sound like the "right" thing to do, but if you're an owner/operator, I don't suggest giving 2 weeks notice before leaving unless you're with a large, established carrier like panther or load1 or some company that you KNOW isn't going to try something like this on you. As a contractor, you don't have the same protections as an employee, so I wouldn't bother following typical "employee" protocol.

Small carriers are prone to things like this, and it's probably generally better to tell them you're taking a week or 2 off for vacation(whatever time is needed to clear your pay backlog). This leaves them under the impression that they need to pay you your money in order to get you to come back and keep making THEM money. There is no better way to be at the top of an owner's "To Pay" list than to be an asset to them.

That said, I don't want this to be taken as advising against running with small carriers. Small carriers oftentimes provide their drivers the best pay rates in the industry, personalized attention, and other perks.
