This looks like a fun thing to do with a book after I have finished reading it. My daughter sent me this link as her friend has been tracking a book they left at a Starbucks that has been criss crossing the country.

Welcome to BookCrossing

I think this could be fun for those who still carry copy books written on paper. I wonder if we could try this at the Expo.

I'll also check my book if they can be like what you are telling. Hope it can help.

What a great idea! Keep the Kindle, I do not want it! I will keep my Nook and find a book or two or three to drop like that!

ETA: though I probably will not be at Expo, doing some "parent sitting" while my sister and brother-in-law trave.

After I was finished with my paperbacks, I would leave them on the folding table in the laundry room at the truck stops. I always took a book with me to read while waiting on the clothes, and so I thought instead of having the books accumulate in the truck, just leave them where someone else could enjoy them. I don't like clutter in the truck!

I agree with you clutter drives me nuts in the truck. I do not like tripping over things nor not having room to set something down on a surface. I also do not like anything on the dash as the reflection in the glass distracts me.

That is what we also do with our paperback books as why not share they are expensive and unless they are super good I do not keep them.

If you just leave books behind do you suppose the cleaning people toss them out before they are claimed by anyone?

I get most of my books from Audible and download them to my I-Phone for convenience and this works great. I have found I cannot listen to a book and do nothing so when stopped I like to read a book. I do not have a Kindle yet but it is in my future. I have a Sony E-Reader and have found many of the books I want are not available in this format.

I read all of the trucker periodicals and that ties up a lot of my reading time. I cannot resist a good book on sale though...

I enjoy my Kindle a lot but I also read paper books as well. My price limit for Kindle books is what the same book would cost from my favorite used book store. If I'm not going to save any money with the Kindle I'd rather spend it with the store I like.

I do the same with newspapers..I give them to someone or leave it laying in a convenient spot for someone to pick up.

I have to admit it's been a long time since I was in a clean laundry room at a truck stop(except maybe the Iowa 80). Hopefully someone will read them before they throw them out!:
