New trucks coming on are all paperless. They are in the process of switching all trucks to paperless...but I forget the deadline.....before the end of this year. We have been running paperless in our fleet for the last 6 months and drivers love it.

I'am going to be running solo is it easier and how does it work. Does it keep track of everything for you? I just want to make it in the expedite world as a solo for right now.

I have been logging for a long time.....but yes, paperless is extremely easy. It keeps track of everythng,,,cities etc. The only thing you have to remember to do is to put yourself in sleeper or offduty when appropiate because when you stop it automatically drops you to line 4....on duty not driving. The new program also shows you hwo much time you have left on your 11-14 and 70 so is very convenient.

Does Panther use the Qualcomm to do your paperless logs? If you are team driving how do you let them know who is driving? Also what if they want to see your logbook at a weigh station?

Yes, we use Qualcom. There is an option that you do when you switch drivers that lets them know who is driving. If they want to se eyour logs you can pull them up graphically now on the qc or fax them to the number the officer provides.

Let me clear on how to do the paperless logs and a DOT wants to see them. If the officer is determined to see your logs you tell him you have paperless, he will then ask to print them out which you will reply you cannont and the only way is to get a fax number from him of his home base once he gives you this information you input it in the QC and the fax will start to be sent after 5 minutes. Then an officer at that location will review your logs and then call up the officer asking for your logs and tell him your clear or you have issues.

I was stopped in South Dakota and the DOT guy was giving me a hassle about not being able to print out my logs in the truck. This is the answer panther told me to tell them next time. Most the time you say your on paperless and they pretty much say ok, nevermind. and continue with what they were doing.

Paperless is very easy to use, once it became available i was one of the first trucks to apply for this. The system can become a pain though sometimes though.

Actually the new version of the paperless logging allows them to see the actual graphs and logs on the screen...is very cool. My understanding is they are rolling out soon to entire fleet since beta is done.
