Panther van drivers in Michigan

I was told most of our loads go into or out of Canada. It was also relayed to me that if I signed a "no canada" contract the chances of having a successful buisness were low. Any "no Canada" contract panther van drivers care to take this one? Any idea how many "no Canada" contracts panther has, like a % of the fleet?

My uneducated guess is that about 70% of Panther's business is within the United States. The remaining 20% to 30% is Canadian with a majority of that being inbound to Canada.

My first week with Panther I was parked next to another Panther van that was under the no Canada contract. I had been there 4 or 5 hours prior to his arrival and he got dispatched ahead of me. He said they were probably saving me for a Canada run. Sure enough, two hours later I was offered a Canadian load. I had to refuse because I didn't have my Panther DOT signage on the doors yet. I didn't want to take any chances. I'm sure Canada would have let me in. It was my own country letting me back in that concerned me.

By signing a no Canada contract you will be making 2 or 3 cents a mile less.

I would say about 60-65 percent of all vans have a no Canada contract. The only time it is good to go to Canada is if you are on the Nashville TN board or somewhere down south because it is hard to get loaded from the Toronto area let alone Buffalo and London.
