The following is a Panther Pus receipt for a load offer I accepted and picked up on 12-27-07. The offer was for 650 miles as noted in the Panther Pus receipt.

Minutes ago I found this in my E-mail. Four days after the fact. A keen eye will note that the total mileage has decreased by 1 mile. So I lost $1.16 including f.s.c. on this load. No biggie on the buck and some change but WHY,WHY,WHY can't they get it right the first time.

I just had a similar thing happen to me. accepted a load with 0.38 fsc and when I got my settlement there was not fsc. after sending in a inquery about this I was told the customer is not paying any fuel surcharge on this and when I accepted the load it clearly states this is a estimated fuel surcharge. cost me about 148.00 dollars and looks like we are going to have to fight to get my money. I asked for the contact name and number for the customer and they would not give it to me. looks like the battle has just started .....

It's part of their new "Owner/Operator Retention Program" .......

Here's my question - when they book these loads for a customer don't they give a quote including a FSC that the customer then accepts ?

And I understand that they have customers maybe that are possibly contracted and no FSC as part of the contract .... but then why send the FSC over the QC as part of the load offer if they already know that it ain't gonna be paid ..... ?

I would email Adam Walter with your information. As far as the customer, you aleady have their phone number. Just ask for their billing/payables dept.

Billing for example to Toyota might be paid by them, or it could be paid by a supplier. Still shouldn't be zero. Something doesn't sound right. When we book our own loads, we still know exactly what the rate and amounts are.

What I don't understand is the fact that they tell you to make sure the rate is in accordance with your contract, but it's subject to change for if the customer has another deal worked out with the company. It seems to me like if the company wants to cut the rate they should take the cut not the contractor, but we all know that will never happen.

As long as panther can find contractors to put up with there B.S. nothing will change there. Would any one buy a truck or van with estimated terms in the contract, subject to change later by the dealer? So why should any one accept a load offer with estimated terms?

Exactly, Fastrod! Who would accept a job paying $13.00/hr, but subject to change? Contractors take what otherwise might be a bad run because the fsc is decent. Then they pull the fsc and hope the contractor doesn't notice? Shady, to say the least. Yes... the company is the one accepting no fsc... they should eat the cost.

That customer doesn't deserve his freight moved by anyone other than a JB. They want the top service that expedite provides, yet won't pony up for the price. Even JB charges an fsc. Let them call an ltl broker. I'm sure it'll get there in a week.
